Die Thrash Metal-Band GAMA BOMB hat mit “Lords Of The Hellfire Club” ein weiteres Lyric-Video von ihrem aktuellen Album „Sea Savage“ veröffentlicht und zudem eine Tour mit EXHORDER, EVIL INVADERS und CHRONOSPHERE bekannt gegeben. Es ist das siebte Album der Iren und folgt dem 2018er-Album „Speed Between the Lines“ nach.
Inspiriert von Horror-Klassikern aus dem viktorianischen England und maritimen Abenteuern wie Moby Dick wird das neue Album wie ein Theaterstück aus dem 19. Jahrhundert präsentiert. Die pelagische Geschichte folgt der Besatzung des Dampfers „S.S. Gama Bomb“ auf ihrer Suche nach einem echten Yeti, nur um auf hoher See langsam verrückt zu werden.
„Over the past year, we’ve been obsessed with stories about the sea,” erklärt Sänger Philly Byrne. „Moby Dick, the mystery of the Franklin Expedition, the maritime stories of William Hope Hodgson and Poe, and movies like „The Lighthouse“ – these things all came together to inspire „Sea Savage“. It’s almost like fate – it was inevitable.“
Das neue Album von GAMA BOMB wurde von Lead Gitarrist Domo Dixon produziert. Gemixt und gemastert wurde das Album von Zack Ohren (u.a. für TESTAMENT tätig), der dafür analoges 80er-Jahre-Equipment verwendete. Das Cover-Artwork stammt (nicht zum ersten Mal) von Graham Humphreys.
Mit “Miami Supercops” ist nun der dritte Vorab-Song erschienen. Der Track sei laut Sänger Philly Byrne “our love letter to all classic cop movies, listing all the cliches and tropes you´d expect in the genre. It´s inspired by the 1985 Italian comedy-cop movie of the same name. Over the last year, and God knows why, Domo (Dixon) has become obsessed with this film and wrote lyrics that sum up the plot with eerie accuracy.”
„Sea Savage“, welches das erste Album ohne Langzeit-Drummng Paul Caffrey ist – an seiner Stelle half James Stewart (VADER) aus -, ist am 4. Dezember 2020 via Prosthetic Records erschienen. Zuvor sind schon der Titeltrack als Video-Clip und ein Lyric-Video zum Albumtrack “Sheer Khan” erschienen.
